Rindenberg In a difficult emotional situation in a city which was not mine, this album mirrored the obscure melancholy in my mind. The sounds were a place of reflection and peace in a strange place, and I will never forget my lone and long meditations while walking through the yellow streets at night to that music. It is like sitting on a rooftop at night, looking down at a world full of monsters. Favorite track: Night, Stars, Dreams, Death.

magicka I suffer from depression and this is the most comforting music I have heard. Though it is a melancholy record, it isn't necessarily about depression. It has gotten me through many bad nights. Favorite track: Mausoleum.

Compact Disc (CD) + Digital Album

A sonic black and white picture of someone lost in a world of confusing emotions...

This is made by Hærleif of Northaunt but released as 'The Human Voice' since it's a very personal ambient album that does not have the same inspiration when it comes to man vs nature as Northaunt. Described as minimal ambient with skeletal melodic themes, for evenings of solitude.

This is my last copies of the original album released on cd by Eibon records in 2008.

Northaunt Trondheim, Norway

In 1996 Norwegian ambient composer Hærleif Langås started exploring the possibilities of using drone, soundscapes and field recordings to create music that deals with the human condition, often seen in perspective against the norse landscapes and nature. The most active projects are Northaunt, The Human Voice and Therradaemon. ... more
